This is the breakthrough Oklahoma farmers have been waiting for, an adapted variety for the Oklahoma panhandle with highly effective resistance to the most yield-ravaging viruses in the High Plains - Wheat streak mosaic and Triticum mosaic (WSM/TM). Breakthrough is the only variety adapted to Oklahoma with a gene called Wsm1, developed from a three-way collaboration among OSU, Kansas State University, and Colorado State University. Crucial to its development was finding competitive yield and quality combined with the virus resistance. Breakthrough is like Iba in those characteristics, but far better than Iba in WSM/TM protection.

Sometimes the weather does not work in our favor with a first wheat planting, or a summer crop needs to finish before planting wheat, or more time is needed to clean up fall-emerging weeds. Butler's Gold is suited to those situations and not to early-planted grazing systems. A unique developmental pattern allows Butler's Gold to be planted late, but not excessively late, after the normal grain-only planting date. Butler's Gold carries another reward - its consistently high protein content and protein quality.

Doublestop CL+ and Strad CL+ set high standards among Clearfield and non-Clearfield varieties alike. They are at the top of their class for yield and quality combined. Strad CL+ is closely related to Doublestop CL+, but starts faster, grows faster, and finishes a few days earlier, with higher yield potential and slightly better protection against stripe rust and leaf rust. Doublestop CL+ shows more tenacity under drought and grazing stress. They have equally high protein levels and desirable baking quality.

Smith's Gold was released to extend the life of Gallagher genetics in environments limited by stripe rust, Hessian fly, and greenbug. It gives much more than that - having greater tenacity with grazing, better test weight (half pound), and better baking quality than Gallagher. Even its bread flavor profile is exquisite, characterized as "delectable richness."

Widely adapted from the Rolling Plains of Texas through the central wheat corridor of Oklahoma into the south-central fringe of Kansas. Green Hammer is fast to first bite and shows strong grazing tolerance, with intermediate first-hollow-stem arrival in a grazed environment. Green Hammer remains one of the few Oklahoma-adapted varieties with strong resistance to both leaf rust and stripe rust. AP Roadrunner, KS Ahearn, and AM Cartwright show similar reactions.

The expectation: A variety that extends yield competitiveness AND upholds quality standards for HRW wheat.
The rewards: Elite yield potential, elite yield protection from diseases, and quality that makes no apology.

Widely adapted from the Green Country of Oklahoma to the High Plains of the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles. OK Corral has supplanted Duster as OSU's long-time standard for dual-purpose capability. Its unique combination of good tolerance to low pH (tested below pH 5.0) and resistance to local Hessian fly biotypes positions OK Corral favorably throughout the central wheat corridor. A deep blend of genetics from Ukraine, K-State, Pioneer, WestBred, and OSU enables OK Corral to thrive under highly variable conditions.

Widely adapted from west Texas to central Kansas, including the Oklahoma panhandle. Showdown has a very high yield ceiling with good standability and responds well to grazing with adequate seeding density. Showdown incorporates Hessian fly resistance into a Jagger background. Recovery from grazing is excellent, though a moderately early winter dormancy release may prevent grazing past mid-March in central Oklahoma.

An eclectic pedigree delivers five chromosomal segments from wheat's wild relatives into a single variety. This unique blend of genetics provides across-the-board protection against the more common foliar diseases in the central corridor.
Uncharted is the only HRW variety adapted to Oklahoma that carries a two-gene stack for BYD immunity. Other significant attributes include green leaf retention to physiological maturity and good acid-soil tolerance. It is highly recommended for early-planted grazing systems.
